The color blue is prevalent in the majority of the RESORT 2013 collections. This is not a surprise as the collections are meant for the vacation during hot summer days. There is a need for cool colors to come into play to the fashion items. And of course, when ‘cool colors’ are considered, you cannot get rid of the suggestion of ‘blue’.

But then again, the color blue can be a little bit bland and cannot flatter most skin colors (you may end up looking too pale or too strong with it). So how can one wear it properly? Let’s look at the runways for some styling inspirations on how to use it in different ways to bring about different fashion effects on your body and overall style.

BLUE LAYERS

One way of playing with the color blue into your wardrobe is to actually learn how to layer over it to give it out a whole new depth and dimension to your look. It’s also a great way to revitalize any solid colored clothing so as to not look repetitive at all.

Buy some see through tops or dresses that you can layer over your blue dress/top in order to bring about a whole new texture to your outfit. Of course, do not forget to put on a blazer for a more professional look.

BLUE PRINT

The color blue was also paired up with some prints in a cut and sew style for the clothes. The way that the color blue is used here is more in a canvass sense for the outfit. You can wear blue in solid colors and pair it with something striking in print. This creates a visual texture as well as a contrast in the palette for your office garbs.

BLUE ALL OVER

They say that matching colors in your wardrobe is a big “no-no” in the modern times, but there is a twist that you can do in order to evoke this style tip and yet look modern and relevant. You can wear blue all over your office garbs but in different shades. You can also even play with a combination of a blue theme but in different combinations of plains and prints in that specific shade. This gives a more interesting outfit as matching clothes of the same palette all over your body can become very boring to the point that it’s a fashion mistake.
