The fashion line, VALENTINO, has always been known for its romantic approach towards all the fashion items that they make. There is always something soft, feminine and alluring about it. Their current collection, the VALENTINO RESORT 2013, is no exception. It is laden with lace and feminine silhouette. The items that you can wear for the office in the collection can be worn as is or in separates. From the blazers down to the pants, these items are definitely passable for office wear.
The items featured in the collection, although has an element of lace, has enough structure to carry it all out as an item for power dressing. Furthermore, the silhouette of each item is more in the conservative side, meaning the usual cuts are showcased. This also makes it very applicable and functional to your daily office garb needs.
But then again there is the usual case of being bored to death with the way it is styled and of course the items themselves. We have seen these types of items before — lace jackets, lace tops, fitted pants etc. Unfortunately for the VALENTINO RESORT 2013 there is nothing new to celebrate about, even the tiniest bit. (Unlike the ALEXANDER MCQUEEN RESORT 2013 collection.) It’s the usual ‘these items will make you look more focused and polished’ but with a hint of romanticism, which we honestly could say you can get by adding some accessories of the same style genre.
The fashion items are very common and we are pretty sure that if the modern working woman cannot afford this VALENTINO pieces, then there is nothing to fear. You can easily see this in the value market stores in their own versions of it.
Overall, the VALENTINO RESORT 2013 has nothing new to offer to the style of power dressing. Although it does have a hint of romanticism because of the feminine silhouettes and the material (lace) used, it was not enough to brand this as a revolutionary collection for office wear. In fact, if there is something ‘celebration-worthy’ about the collection, it would be the fact that you can just grab this as an inspiration for your future mix ups with your office outfit, and find these pieces in a cheaper price. So unto the next collection then?
